Author Biography

Mimi Coffey is the founder of the Coffey Firm, which has offices in both Dallas and Fort Worth focusing exclusively on Texas DWI. She has been recognized by the National College of DUI (DWI in Texas) Defense for passing their DUI Defense Board Certification exam. She has completed courses on NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Testing as both a practitioner and an instructor. She has also received training as an Intoxilyzer 5000 series operator and maintenance technician by C.E.S. Consulting. In addition, she has completed the Robert F. Borkenstein course on Alcohol and Highway Safety: Testing, Research and Litigation as well as the Borkenstein course on DWI/DUI drugs: The Effects of Drugs on Human Performance and Behavior, both courses designed for state technical supervisors. Furthermore, she has successfully completed the Drug Evaluation and Classification Overview Course presented by Walden, Platt & Associates. So not only is she highly trained in the area of alcohol-related DWI/DUI, but also in the growing area of DWI/DUI drug cases. Her law practice consists of three associates and six support staff. She has been published in the Chapman and The Voice (Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers magazine)
