Author Biography

Gregory T. Everson, M.D., F.A.C.P., one of the country’s leading hepatologists, is Professor of Medicine and Director of Hepatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is the principal investigator of the HALT C trial sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and has won numerous awards, including the American College of Physicians Teaching and Research Scholarship. An author and contributor to over 300 scientific and clinical publications related to hepatitis C and liver disease, Dr. Everson is a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Gastroenterologic Association.

Hedy Weinberg is an award-winning writer and essayist whose work has appeared in such prestigious publications as The Washington Post, Senior Edition USA, The Denver Post, Bon Appétit, and New Choices. She collaborated with Dr. Everson in writing Living with Hepatitis B, Living with Hemachromatosis, and My Mom Has Hepatitis C. Diagnosed with hepatitis in 1993, she brings to the reader personal understanding of how patients feel and what they want and need to know.
