Summary

A cop on the trail of a bizarre murder uncovers a hidden conspiracy, and some shocking secrets about his late father, in this brand-new, original graphic novel set in George R.R. Martin’s shared-world universe, Wild Cards.

The Wild Cards virus—an alien illness that causes death, superpowers, or bizarre mutations—has infected the earth, killing 90% of the infected (black queens), transforming most of the rest into strange creatures (jokers), and granting the lucky few superpowers (aces).

Today, Aces, Jokers, and uninfected humans live in relative peace. Francis "Franny" Black is a human cop, newly—and, some say, too suddenly—promoted to detective, working out of the precinct in Jokertown, the place where the bulk of the virus fell in 1946, now known as Wild Card central. Franny's father was one of the heroes of the precinct, killed in the line of duty, and Franny is finding it hard to fill his dead father's shoes. Until a particularly insidious case starts uncovering long-buried secrets that his father might have died to protect...

Illustrated in a gorgeous, cinematic style by both Michael Komarck and Elizabeth Leggett, this unique graphic novel is a visual feast certain to delight.
