Summary

FUN IN THE OLDEN DAYS by William P. Robertson takes the reader on a nostalgic ride back to the baby boom era of the 1950's and '60's. Like LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, the book deals with real problems faced by kids back then. With humor being the main focus, each story is arranged like a Spike Jones parody record. It starts with a sentimental memory from Robertson's childhood and ends with a funny punchline. Some of the topics covered are Little League Baseball, sled riding, treehouses, and childhood mischief. The author also discusses fights at school, good and bad teachers, and not so happy romance. Along the way, he reveals incidents and people who inspired him to become a writer. Come join in the games, jokes, and fun from a time uninfected by political correctness. An old-fashioned horselaugh provides the appropriate soundtrack.

Author Biography

William P. Robertson was born in 1950 in Bradford, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Mansfield State College in 1972 with a B.S. in English. Since then, he has worked in factories, taught high school English, and run a successful house painting business. Robertson began freelancing short stories, poetry, and articles in 1978, and his work has appeared in over 500 magazines worldwide. He has also published thirteen poetry collections, two audio books of horror verse, thirteen volumes of short stories, and fourteen novels. Bill is an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and vintage rock & roll. As a Bucktail Civil War reenactor, he's still playing army with his pals.
