Author Biography
Patrick Hanks has been a lexicographer and linguistic researcher for over thirty years. He has formerly worked for the English Dictionary department at Oxford University Press, and the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex. He now lives and works in America. Flavia Hodges is a philologist, lexicographer, and publisher. She formerly worked in the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex, where much of the research for this book was carried out.
